About Me
Hello! My name is Zoe Shields; I grew up in Philadelphia. I enjoy hiking, working out, designing novels, and sketching, but more than anything, I’ve always been fascinated by film and animated media. Animated series inspired me to expand my perspective of storytelling; to find my interpretation of style and art so I could depict the stories of others and my very own. Enrolling at Drexel has provided me with resources and knowledge that expanded my capabilities and perspective as an animation major.
I’ve learned to storyboard and produce animatics for ideal animation projects,
modeled and textured 3-dimensional objects for environments, learned to rig, and animate complex models to create life. I interned at SEPTA as a Multimedia Designer, filming and composing educational videos and updates, as well as animating examples of takeaways for the audience to enjoy and remember.
I enjoy creating complex models, memorable visuals, and immersive storytelling that all ties together to make art that feels right, it allows me a breather from everyday stresses of life and to express myself. There’s so much to see and so much to learn from life
experiences, and when I’m able to capture the moment, the feeling, and the connection, then I know I’ll have succeeded as an artist.
I’m continuing to pursue my passion as I develop other skills, some of which include the products I’m designing to demonstrate and support the projects I’ve been working on. I want to work in the animation industry so I can play every role, understand it, and come to learn how to start up my own company so original stories can come to live. Everybody deserves to be heard, and I’ll work every day to express experiences through an artistic lens that helps us naturally feel and listen to them.
